Drone Safety Services (DSS) was founded to help the drone community come to terms with generic safety aspects relating to drones and drone operations. The advice provided on this website is aimed at operators or developers of civil Commercial, Recreational and / or Experimental drones. Assistance may also be provided to operators or developers of Military or Paramilitary drones.

The idea to launch this website followed the publication of The Drone Safety Handbook in February 2019. The Handbook catalogs a diverse spectrum of drone-specific safety aspects, and the website expands on this by providing additional services in support of aspects detailed within the Handbook.
